Villa Douglas has welcomed guests for many years, most of them arriving through friends, family and word of mouth, and many returning season after season. Only a small part of them have ever left a review online: the house was listed on selected websites from 2017, and the words below are those left there, reproduced exactly as written, in the language each guest chose.
We publish them here as one would keep a guestbook: a few pages, in their own hand, from people who have lived in the house for a week or two and known it as we do. Our current listings are new, following a change of account required by Italian short-term rental regulations, which is why these earlier reviews no longer appear there.

every step from the piazzetta in Capri is worth it to arrive at the famed villa caterola or aka villa douglass. the views from the multiple terraces are un matched the nightly breeze unforgettable as you sit and watch the sunset over bay of Naples. the house is large and comfortably housed my group of 7 kids 3 adults. a supermarket and yummy restaurant lo sfizio 5 to 7 min away. was a very memorable stay. thankyou kindly giulio. oh and the air conditioner worked amazingly well

Our stay at Villa Douglas was fantastic from start to finish. We stayed at Villa Douglas after a family wedding and traveled with a large group. The Villa itself is spectacular - recently updated, pristinely clean, and the views and surroundings are unbeatable. The pool is so spectacular we felt we didn’t even need to leave the grounds!
Giulio was incredibly responsive throughout our stay, and went the extra mile to help us arrange luggage transport to and from the Porto. He was available and responded very quickly to any inquiries we had during our stay. The on-site caretakers are also wonderful and very responsive. Everyone made us feel welcome and we were incredibly happy with our experience.
We wholeheartedly recommend Villa Douglas for anyone looking to stay in Capri. We loved our experience there and plan to return for a future visit!

We had the most wonderful stay at Villa Douglas. We had a group of 10 family members ranging in age from 6-70. Giulio was amazing to work with. He helped with restaurant and beach recommendations and reservations and was available for any questions we had. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. The house and property were well maintained and the view from the pool was breathtaking! If we find ourselves in Capri again, we will definitely stay at Villa Douglas again.

We enjoyed a wonderful week a Villa Douglas. The location is secluded and private but within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. The pool area is spectacular and the villa easily accommodated our three families.

This home is excepional in every way. The view of the sea is beautiful and we could not have asked for anything better. Giulio was the best host and made sure we had everything we needed. Absolute perfection from cleanliness to comfort. The home was very spacious and well appointed. We did not want to leave and we will definitely come back. Well worth it!!
